Chairman of the Board

Born in 1960 in the Biga district of Çanakkale, Davut Doğan completed his primary and secondary education in Biga. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Anadolu University and continues his academic studies in the Department of Philosophy at Istanbul University.

After resigning from his position as a civil servant in 1986, Doğan co-founded Doğtaş A.Ş. with his brothers in 1987. In 1988, he established the company’s manufacturing facility, marking the beginning of his industrial career. In 1992, he founded BİGİAD, one of Türkiye’s first business associations, and served as its President for eight years. Under his leadership, Doğtaş Mobilya rapidly became one of Türkiye’s leading furniture brands, and in 2011, the company acquired Kelebek Mobilya, one of the country’s most established furniture manufacturers.

Expanding into the construction sector through Doğyap, which focuses on real estate development projects both in Türkiye and abroad, Doğan further diversified his business portfolio by founding Biotrend Enerji in 2017 to invest in alternative energy production. As a result, his business activities expanded across four different sectors. Biotrend Enerji was listed on Borsa Istanbul in 2021, received an investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact.

Between 1999 and 2009, Doğan served as Chairman of the Biga Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During this period, he established the 65-partner Biga Venture Group, which successfully implemented numerous investment projects. He played a significant role in the industrial development of Biga and also served as Chairman of the Biga Organized Industrial Zone. In 2003, he founded the Furniture Industrialists Association of Türkiye (MOSDER), bringing together the country’s branded furniture manufacturers under one organization, and served as its President for a period. He also pioneered the establishment of MOYSAD, the Furniture and Mattress Manufacturers Association.

Doğan is a member of TÜSİAD and DEİK. He served as Chairman of the Furniture Sector Council of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) for ten years. Between 2002 and 2005, he lectured on Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Biga. In 2005, he became the Türkiye Finalist of the World Entrepreneur of the Year competition, and in 2007, he was named "Businessperson of the Year for Productivity" by the National Productivity Center.

Davut Doğan currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Doğanlar Holding. Until 2026, he also served as Honorary Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors of Doğanlar Furniture Group Manufacturing Industry and Trade Inc. An active angel investor, Doğan was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 2024. He has also been selected as "Businessperson of the Year" by students of Middle East Technical University (METU) and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in different years. He has taught Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Technology of Gazi University. In addition, he continues to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of Arel University and as Chairman of the ADVAK Ayşe Doğan and Ali Doğan Culture and Education Foundation.

Having delivered conferences at nearly one hundred universities, chambers of commerce, and professional associations, Davut Doğan is also the author of four books: İzdüşümü, İzlenimler, İşte Tecrübelerim ("Here Are My Experiences"), and Altın Bulmadan Zengin Olunmaz ("You Cannot Become Rich Without Finding Gold").
